I hate to point out the mechanics, but wouldn’t he have to have his pants down?

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t use this in the “What We Do In The Shadows” movie.

I imagine he is scooching along the ground as opposed to, uhhh, ummm – Ah – “making like a kid with two servings of ice cream in a cone”, if that is a sufficiently delicate bit of euphemising.

So… what’s the DU about this? Do you not get that the wolfman is licking his balls? Or do you not get why Or do you not get why it’s supposed to be funny? Or do you feel that “because he’s basically a dog” isn’t enough? I don’t think anyone can help with the third. Or is it why is the vampire saying “I wish you wouldn’t” (because that’s what people say when dogs do this in public and embarrass them).

As for halloween tag. Being about monsters is a *direct* reference to Halloween in my opinion.

“woozy, I think the DU was clear from the subject line.”

….. so you *aren’t* familiar with dogs licking themselves?

“For some reason I thought he was scooting, which often means worms.”

It works just as well and and exactly the same for that as well.

    He’s not, unless he’s got an anteater’s snout instead of a wolf’s. He’s scooting.

@ chipchristian – I think it is perfectly clear that he IS “scooting”, despite multiple opinions to the contrary above. Neither the position of his head nor the presence of pants supports the “licking” theory. When dogs do that, they bend differently.

Woozy, virtually everything I know about dogs and cats, I learned from comic strips about dogs and cats.

And rest assured that when I say IDU something, I really DU it. It benefits nobody, least of all myself, to be insincere about this.

Yeah, when I first saw this, I wasn’t thinking licking or scooting, because he’s not a dog. Sure, dogs and wolves belong to the same canine family, but Wolfman is just part wolf.

By the way, I have owned a number of male dogs. IMO the whole licking their privates thing happens a lot more in jokes and comics than it does in real life.

For the record, Kilby makes a good argument for scooting, so I will go with that theory. You can bet I’d be doing a lot of scooting too if I didn’t have access to TP. Okay maybe TMI there.
