I’ll watch this tomorrow when I have time. Shemp’s comedy comes out better in his solo movies than with the Stooges. Unfortunately, many shorts were remade with different actors, so you can find two otherwise identical shorts, one with Charley Chase and one with Shemp. I don’t know which of the two usually came first. That must not have been nice for either of them, but the shorts were considered to be ephemeral anyway.

Shemp is also excellent in Hellzapoppin’, where he plays the projectionist running Hellzapoppin’. He is also in the follow up Crazy Town, but I haven’t seen that since I was a kid.

Now that I’ve watched it, I think even more that Shemp was a better solo actor than member of a group. He’s perfect in the role.
