I would assume associates at work had lunch together.

I still think the bed cover should NOT have been the same color as the toilet water.

“I would assume associates at work had lunch together”

Doesn’t that seem an awkward setup for a joke? Wouldn’t “I had fireflys for lunch” work better. I here “we had fireflies for lunch” and I think “we” means he and his wife and I wonder what’s the matter that she can’t remember and has to ask what she had for lunch.

I’m virtually certain that this wouldn’t really happen (outside of cartoon physics), but I cannot remember enough of my college organic chemistry course to prove why not.

@Kilby: Fluorescein will produce a similar effect, but I don’t think fireflies would work. They generate light through the biochemical reaction of luciferin and luciferase, which isn’t likely to happen after digestion and passing through the kidneys.

@ DemetriosX – Even if I were willing to suspend my disbelief about either of those devilish compounds surviving pH-3 stomach acid and the trip through the blood system, what I most doubt is that the final product (as emitted into the porcelain throne) would contain enough free oxygen to facilitate any further reactions.
