    Now that you mention it. Yes, there have been.

    A slightly annoying aspect is that there is only *one* possible joke to sawing a person in half and *all* of the jokes are precisely that. (Well, okay the New Yorker managed a different joke.

    The question really should be: Have there been more comics about [insert trope here], OR have we become more aware of them due to seeing and/or discussing them on CIDU?

    My question (to myself) has been: Have there been more comics about ‘Death of [insert item here]’, OR have I become more aware of them since reading Sir Terry Pratchett’s DiscWorld series, in which DEATH is a major character? And the above.

    Pogo jokes always welcome, but I think Hounddog got it from DOG’S LIFE, not BOY’S LIFE. (Boys is more or less mythicalological critters in Pogo country, at least once Bumbazine vanished after the first ANIMAL COMICS stories.)

    The web sort of messes up Baader-Meinhof, because frequently when you research something, you suddenly do see a bunch of ads for the item or ones similar.

    “Relax, I’m only here for your . . . teeth.” I don’t know how to illustrate this, but the piñata would be SAWN in half, the candy would be gone, the kid’s teeth would be rotted . . .

    BTW, I think the little doohickey above the ‘n’ is made in the same way as the accent acute is made over my ‘e’ . . . at least in the MAC; it’s option ‘n’, then ‘n’, option ‘e’, then ‘e’. Don’t know how it’s done on PCs.

    I think most computers, Mac or PC, force you to use some sort of code. I find it easier and faster to Google “pinata,” which will find me “piñata,” which I can then copy and paste.

    My phone keyboard, though, will let me easily choose virtually any accented letter. Or variation. So I can tell people I’m seeing Œdipus next week.
