Besides that, the comic is in English, and relatively few Americans would recognize pomme frites. What would characteristically go on the plate with french fries? A burger. But that doesn’t rhyme with “cake” either. Hmmmm. Costco now sells something called a “bake,” but that would be pretty obscure, too, even if it came with fries.
