Everyone else is wearing black, and she’s in orange. That marks her as a stranger, apparently.

I agree with Boise Ed that it’s because everyone else is wearing black and she isn’t.
I had a similar experience walking through Milan, Italy. Everybody wore urban chic (read: black) except the Americans, many of whom seemed to think they were going to the beach.
Is the Black woman in the center of the crowd talking into a giant microphone, or am I just not understanding the art?
That’s a baby in one of those carriers.
Because (presuming this is in NYC) black is a formal color for clothing to wear to work and everyone else knows this, but she must have moved here recently from the country and does not know this ?
