The Hilburn (at the top) is something of a CIDU for me. Is the pun on “back”, because they’re a chiropractic office and backs (of a body) are special for them? Or is it about “behind”? Or even “No, we’re not behind in paying, as we are not paying at all”?

I don’t think there is any pun on behind, that’s used normally. By “back taxes” he means taxes on the work done on backs. They owe, but aren’t late on those.
