Cats will occasionally stare at walls with great intensity. Probably because they’re seeing or, more likely, hearing something you don’t. It’s often said/joked that they’re seeing ghosts. That’s the best I can make of this.

I’ll defer to the cat people, but I still have questions. Why does Janet look angry at what the cat is doing? (She seems to be staring at it, not Arlo.) Presumably Ludwig doesn’t just do this on All Saint’s Day, so what’s the big deal? Also, if Ludwig is enraptured by seeing ghosts as is being implied by Arlo, wouldn’t it stand to reason he would be equally into Halloween, possibly more so, as there are many about?

November 1(‘All Saints/All Hallows/Day of the Dead’ is the full day of observance/ remembering those who have passed. Halloween is the night before.
