JMcAndrew sends this in: “So this is some kind of skin care product for rhinoceros? The frog “Jimmy Cool” is a celebrity who has a line of skin care products for animals? Is that the joke?”

Your editor isn’t a regular Heathcliff reader. Is Jimmy Cool a regular character? Do rhinos in nature have some method of oiling their skin? Googling “Rhino Tough” shows several products that play off the toughness of rhinos, but not their baby soft skin.

The frog on the bottle looks like the frog to Heathcliff’s right. Jimmy the frog is a recurring character according to https://heathcliff.fandom.com/wiki/Jimmy
Don’t know about the ‘Cool’ part.
Jimmy Cool has been a regular for some years now. Heathcliff obsessively tries to make people like Jimmy through various ploys but the public is (usually) unimpressed. The last week has been Jimmy Cool gags along these lines.
This time Heathcliff seems to hope a successful product will help Jimmy find acceptance. Previously, he set up Jimmy with a product called Fly Soap that didn’t take off (heh). It seems like Rhino Oil is doing better. In the next strip, one of the birds admits Jimmy is beginning to grow on him. The actual products involved are whimsical nonsense, a long Heathcliff tradition.
Jimmy the Frog is a recurring character. Jimmy Cool is Jimmy with sunglasses on, new last week. (Think Snoopy and Joe Cool.)
Considering that some cats will hunt and eat frogs it’s surprising that Jimmy is hanging out with Heathcliff.
Heathcliff is almost nothing but non sequiturs these days, especially if you’re not familiar with the running gags.
I’ve never found Heathcliff to be worth following.
I look in on Heathcliff occasionally, often from what has been posted here or Josh’s. Usually there is a theme to the week’s strips.
