Panel 1 says “Dik Browne”, but both he and son Chris are deceased. Who’s doing the strip now? And with Nancy running with guest artists, is that person one of the guest artists, or someone who wishes they were one of the guest artists? (Note Nancy and Fritzi in panel 4)
I did find this on Comics Beat, in Chris’s obituary: “Following the retirement and death of its creator, Dik’s sons Chris and Chance Browne – plus illustrator and cartoonist Gary Hallgren who has drawn the series since 2015 – took over the reins. Chris’ thirty-plus year tenure on the character (his brother Chance works mainly on the continuation of their father’s other series Hi and Lois but assisted with edits) – from 1989 to 2023 – makes him the strip’s longest serving cartoonist (his father retired in 1988, accumulating 16 years of material).”

On Facebook, a commenter dug deep into his comic archive to find this similar gag from Ernie Bushmiller:

The implication (in Wikipedia and other sources) is that Gary Hallgren is still doing the artwork, and he may be writing it, too, but his work is (at least so far) in both cases entirely uncredited.
P.S. Fritzi’s boyfriend “Phil” (see the lower left panel) bears a startling resemblance to the unnamed artist in the Hägar strip (compare the lower right panel, and ignore the goatee and beret).
Phil Fumble was a longrunning character in Nancy. Gilchrist brought him back as a tall pastor & married him to Fritzi before leaving.
IOW, Good Catch! And whoever wrote this Hagar must have seen the old comic.
I hadn’t thought of Phil Fumble as the artist, but there’s a clear resemblance.
Jaimes has now returned to Nancy; I queued this up when the guest artists were still doing it.
Actually, Phil Fumble kind of resembles Ernie Bushmiller.
Fritzi looks like Lucille Ball in her earlier acting days into “I Love Lucy”, but with black hair.
All I meant @1 was that there was a resemblance, I didn’t mean to imply that they were the same character. However, beckoningchasm makes a good point @4:
But there’s also this self-portrait that shows a distinct difference between Ernie and Phil:
