This pair comes from Philip, who asks “But in the Strange Brew, why is the appendix in the middle of the book?”

Well, if the appendix was at the end where it is supposed to be, they wouldn’t have had to do an appendectomy, would they?
An appendectomy is done for an inflammed appendix. This one got so big it is now half the book.
@TedD – Awesome save for the comic; kudos

I think most books would see a doctor about a cracked spine.
The humor just in “dangling participle” is amazing. Good work here.
As opposed to the two “silent” comics, there was nothing coincidental about these two “book” comics appearing on the same day. Nobody knows who started it, but August 9th really is “Book Lovers’ Day“.
P.S. @ Darren – I was about to say that I vastly preferred Stan’s “broken spine”, because that is a correction to the structure of the book, rather than a minor adjustment to the text. Not until I saw your comment did I realize that the “dangling participle” really is one.
Indeed, and did you note that Whamond’s cartoon is not from Reality Check but from Day by Dave where he uses those calendrical observances?
