It might be hard to see, but there’s a spotlight shining in the wrong place — just off to the singer’s side.
The singer’s point is that he’s so close to the right place, but not enough. We’ve all felt this way before.
That was a LOL for me.
This worked just fine in color, but I was wondering how it would appear when rendered in half-tone monochrome, which led to the discovery that of all the comics that might show up at the wrong time, this one is five years late.
I’d definitely listen to this!
Olivier and J-L are right, but I found a totally different punchline for this one that made me smile: he’s singing for people who desperately need to hear this song … and tautologically, are not there right now, because they’re never in the right place at the right time.
I like where Carl Fink is going – it would be funnier with a few empty seats in the front row!
