I think the reason the appointment was cancelled is obvious (the “12/25” in the upper left corner). In addition, the “2019” shows that this comic is not related to any social distancing concerns.

I wasn’t sure whether “You’re probably wondering why..” is meant to be a stereotypical therapist way of saying something.
I think “You’re probably wondering why…” is the stereotypical evil villain way of revealing themselves.
I think this one would have been funnier in the absence of an obvious reason to cancel (i.e., a pandemic).
