Toilet and outhouse jokes are one thing, but an open latrine hole without even a tree for cover seems more revolting than warranted by this joke. Besides, that “lid” is much larger than any trapdoor spider could possibly build. Even allowing for comic biology, the size of the opening in B.C.’s jar is much smaller.
