I remember so clearly one of our teachers had a class on ‘fake foods’ . . . we couldn’t tell the difference between the ingredients listed (in the late 70s) for Cool Whip and Preparation H.
I have my doubts about your recollection. The top ingredient in Cool Whip is water. I wouldn’t expect that in an ointment. Not vegetable oil or sweetener (probably sugar back then, HFCS and regular corn syrup these days) either.
