I thought this was obvious, but the tag says CIDU. The witch is so drunk that she couldn’t tell that the “broom” she mounted is actually a tree branch. Buni is confused about how she got up there, but even he should be able to figure it out: she’s still holding the bottle.
Then how did she get up there?
I thought of two possibilities. One was Kilby’s. The other is that she didn’t even notice when she crashed into the tree and ended up on its branch.
In either case, remember: Don’t drink and fly.
And where is the wreckage of the broom?
I’m sort of with Arthur. Only I figured she took off on the broom, fell off onto the tree branch and the broom flew away without her. All without her even noticing. Definitely “Don’t drink and fly.”
Possibly she was also mistaken in the first place in thinking she was a witch… I am guessing that these aren’t real witches*, just humans, or possibly rabbits, in costume.
*well, you know what I mean
She keeps her broom and her booze in the tree. No, I don’t know why, either. But the comic did make me laugh.
How did she get up there, you ask?
Well, she *is* a witch, after all. She could have used her magic intending to mount her broom and fly away, but being inebriated, it didn’t quite go as planned.

I’m with Kilby… she climbed up onto the branch in her drunk state, thinking it was a broom. People do clamber on things a lot when drunk. Balconies, for instance; also see “An Estonian tourist in the Alps had a lucky escape at the weekend when he got drunk and climbed a mountain instead of returning to his hotel.”

But she won’t know about it for a while yet.

Very entertaining, Mark.
And refers right back to another discussion about Cinderella and her glass slipper.
