Yeah, I think that’s just a leaf. Panel 3 really does look like she stuffed it in her bra, but I think the overall point is just that she’s willing to pick the leaves up one by one as they fall instead of waiting until they’re all over the ground to be raked up.

I would have had nothing… but I think you comment about “And speaking of bras…” and “Arlo seems quit intrigued by the fact that Janis shoved the helicopter seed into hers” explains one interpretation very well. Arlo puts off raking the leaves because he enjoys looking down Janice’s blouse.

But I prefer DemetriosX’s explanation. Which I suspect is the intended one and a lot nicer and less immature and actually kind of funnier (once we accept Janice’s idiosyncracies of not being able to tolerate it leaf by leaf). Although Arlo’s huge grin would support Bill’s explanation. (Okay, technically it was *my* explanation but I’m not going to own it.)

I read her motion in panel three as “flap the shirt to cool off a bit after exertion” rather than padding her bra with leaves.

On the leaf pile. Ludwig ate it. She dropped it in the neighbor’s yard. She ate it. Spontaneous combustion,

Helicopter seed? In Queens we called them polynoses. Though I agree with DemetriosX that it’s just a leaf.

“Because you stick them on your nose?”

We would do that as kids. You carefully split the seed in half, and then you can put your nose between the two halves with the blade sticking straight up.

I thought it was a leaf also. But I have them on the brain as I have to do an embroidery of one for the project this year of my embroidery chapter.
