It really is too darn hot

I usually save this for the hottest day of the summer, which I know today is not: but we’ve got construction going on here that precludes turning on the air conditioning, plus there are machines in the kitchen belching out hot, humid air that’s long since spread to every room in the house. So Holy Hades, Batman, it’s ugly in here. I’d sleep outside if I weren’t worried about getting eaten by a bear.

(of course they’ll be removing the machines tomorrow, just in time for the temperatures to drop 25 to 30 degrees anyway)

It’s been very hot here. We’re going to shatter the record for hottest May. It’s been July weather.

Echo Brian in STL for the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, so the song is apropos. Drought, hot, and little or no breeze. We are forecast to hit 100 Wednesday, which almost never happens until late June or July. It’s going to be a scorcher of a summer.

Now drought we’re not experiencing. The hot days have been punctuated by heavy rains. We had another thunderstorm and downpour last night. The combination of rain and heat has made the landscape lush and verdant.

Oh SURE, when I ask for it, back when it really was too darn hot a couple weeks ago, AND the building A/C was still in winter heating mode (not allowed to switch over until May 15), AND I can’t open the windows because it’s the height of my allergy season, I get a, “Hot? We don’t need no stinkin’ badges!” response.

Guess it’s good to be king…

(I’d say I was a snowflake, only I was too darn hot!)

Bill, as I was reading how hot it was for you, I was going to say – that with the weather here this year, just wait a day and you will be looking to turn on the heat – but you beat me to it.
