The second one is exactly the original story, except that he’s communicating by texts instead of shouts. I don’t understand the thinking that you somehow get a joke by just inserting some modern technology in an old story, when it doesn’t change the story in any way. (Actually, it makes the story make less sense: why doesn’t he just take a picture of the wolf?)
