… lose the nesting?
Over the past couple of weeks, this site has gotten a surge of new visitors. Reading the FAQ is not mandatory, but is recommended.
CIDU has been around since 1996, but unfortunately GoDaddy managed to destroy it earlier this year so you’ll only find archives going back to January.
Despite the fact that “godaddyandthesquirrelmustbothdie.wordpress.com” is probably appearing in your browser’s address bar, you can always access the site using the slightly-less-cumbersome “comicsidontunderstand.com.”
This past week saw CIDU’s highest weekly traffic ever, including the week of this year’s 24-Hour Project (though that was the busiest single day).
Well, not exactly lost, but I will be home late, and therefore Sunday’s LOL page will be posted late.
Please entertain one another until I get back.
We’re approching the 10,000th comment since the site resurrected in January.
A lot of them were even related to the day’s comic!
(This number does not, of course, include spam or otherwise deleted comments: just what’s actually on the site)
If you send me something for the LOL page, or any of the others, please mention the screen name you use here (or if you don’t want your name posted at all, let me know that as well).
You would think after all these years I’d be able to remember what screen name goes with what real-world name, especially when some of you have sent me countless comics, but you’d be wrong. I am just really, really bad with names. Always have been.
Yet if you ask me the secret identities of obscure 1940s super heroes, I will astound you. Go figure.
I’ll be roasting in Dallas this week, and I probably won’t be dealing with anything CIDU-related until the pop-up timer comes up through my belly button.
I am way behind on e-mail, and am likely to remain so for the remainder of the month. On top of that, as I mentioned in another thread, I just discovered that GMX has been shunting a bunch of messages directly into the Trash folder.
Not Spam. Trash.
No clue why, but I’m going to have to do some virtual dumpster-diving.
Please rest assured that no e-mails are being ignored, even if they’re not getting responses.
WordPress just informed me of about 15 moderated comments going back to the beginning of July. Only one of them seemed to have gone into moderation for cause.
Your guess is as good as mine.
…beginning 24 hours from now.
Believe it or not, there’s a chance January’s fiasco might have screwed it up a bit, but… I’m pretty sure everything’s going to go online like clockwork.
