Pandanonium – Maybe they would feel guilty about paying one individual rate. And I think it’s just the second ticket booth that’s closed, not the entire venue.

Mark M. is definitely right that “it’s just the second ticket booth that’s closed, not the entire venue,” but this is a textbook example of adding an extraneous detail that can only confuse matters.
I’m pretty sure we earlier saw a variant where they were trying to pay just one ticket
“Trying to buy just one ticket” has been done A LOT. If I wanted to pull a statistic out of thin air (as statistics generally are), I’d say 40% of all Russian Nesting Doll comics involve trying to buy just one ticket.
