This requires less thinking than many of us are capable. The joke is that they’re wearing disguises, so the facial recognition doesn’t work.

If, as Mitch4 suggested, they were expected to wear the products, the reference photos would have been taken with the disguises and would match. Else, if the employees would remove the disguises, they could match and enter. The joke is there, but any thinking about it will likely just confuse you.

    The joke worked for me.

Maybe they should have gone with the variation that everybody is a Mr. Potatohead, and the facial-recognition system doesn’t work reliably.

“This requires less thinking than many of us are capable.”

This is a brilliant concept. It’s a perfect explanation of *soo* many strips these days.

Of course, if they tweaked the facial recognition to account for the disguises then Shock G could sneak in with no trouble at all.

Even eyeglasses throw off the recognition machines. DMV does not let one wear them for the photo any longer – I pointed out to them that I would not know where to look for the photo without them and they let me keep mine on.
