Yes, that’s all there is. (And I think you meant “wattle”.)
It’s not really a fair line up, if so. It’s quite clear from that array who the thief is. It’d be like having a line up for a mugging with one guy holding your purse.
Also, what’s the joke here? I can’t see any sort of humour here at all.
Ok, a lineup is a joke…and it’s nearly Thanksgiving, so let’s make it turkeys. Hmm, what shall I put for a reason? Oh, yeah, turkeys have wattles! There we go, a comic.
Cartoonist is tired. That’s my guess.
I didn’t like the way it was drawn, but when I went to look up where a “wattle” is supposed to be attached, I discovered that the thing on the turkey’s nose is actually called a “snood” (and no, I did not make that up).
A snood is also a hair covering for women, and an ear-protective covering for long-eared dogs (such as bassets). I know ’bout wattles, since people have THOSE, too. Ahem. This writer included.
I think it’s supposed to be “one of these things is not like the others,” like the picture matching puzzles.
“Did the attacker hae any distinguishing characteristics?”
“This is the wattle,
It’s the emblem of our land;
You can stick in a bottle,
You can hold it in yer hand!
Amen!”
Wattle and snoods are both caruncles. And a turkey has both. The wattle is on the chin and has bilateral symmetry and the snood hangs down from the forehead and dangles below the beak.
A snood is also a hair covering for women
I know that from crosswords.
To make it more explicit: note that the victim has NO snood, and the criminal has TWO snoods. So Stan has it.
As to why it’s funny… I dunno — stealing someone’s body parts is kind of funny.
Why does the snood look like it comes off the beak when it actually comes from the forehead? Well… look at a turkey. The attached-to-the-face end of the beak is kind of RIGHT at the forehead… a turkey forehead almost touches the turkey beak anyway…
“It’d be like having a line up for a mugging with one guy holding your purse.”
If they caught the guy with it, what’s the problem.
Is that your purse? Is a valid identification. Then, the fact that the guy had it is evidence.
@JP Then why have a line up at all? I think that’s the point I was implying. Sorry for not being explicit.
