Yep, he doesn’t remember her, even though she worked for him in an egg-laying capacity for seven years. I don’t think he’s going to get the job.
Variant on a gag I’ve seen from various cartoonists. A farmer approaches the pearly gates, and sees St. Peter is a giant chicken. The “Mister Boffo” version is captioned “A Time to Worry”.
@ DBenson – One of those cartoonists was Gary Larson, and the “farmer” was Colonel Sanders. Bill Watterson did another variant on the theme:
I think there have been a LOT of versions with Colonel Sanders.
Be nice to everyone you meet on the way up …
That’s a farmer? I thought it was a teenager looking for part-time work in the mailroom…
One sees this motive in movies and shows; the peon you ignore or never notice for years comes into a position of authority over you and is a aware you never noticed him and can use it against you. (It was *waaaay* overdone on the show Scrubs– which having lasted more then three episodes must qualify as the most overrated television show in history). But practically I have to wonder if it ever actually happens.
Rags to riches story from the hen. She worked tirelessly for yeas laying eggs for the farmer, and then moved on to another career. Meanwhile, the farmer’s farm had “bought the farm” as it were? He appears to be looking for work.
She appears to be a in charge of a large corporation, and farmer happens to be interviewing for a job with her company.
The tables have turned, and Mr. Farmer may not get the job he’s looking for.
” the show Scrubs– which having lasted more then three episodes must qualify as the most overrated television show in history”
You didn’t like it. To bad, because it was awesome. Community had trouble finding an audience, too, despite being the most creative comedy on TV for three years. (Season 4, the gas leak year, doesn’t count although it wasn’t bad so much as just “not the same show”. Year five was cursed with cast defections. Chase was expendable, Glover was not.
I will agree with James here. Both “Scrubs” and “Community” were fine shows. The latter being better in my opinion, but still both excellent shows.
I remember the cartoon with the chicken saying, “He may be Colonel Sanders to you, but he’s Adolf Eichmann to me.”
