Definition of egoism. 1 a : a doctrine that individual self-interest is the actual motive of all conscious action. b : a doctrine that individual self-interest is the valid end of all actions. 2 : excessive concern for oneself with or without exaggerated feelings of self-importance — compare egotism
Either egoist or egotist seems OK to me.
If you can see what a glass of beer is thinking you may be an ergotist.
Bravo, MiB!
“If you can see what a glass of beer is thinking you may be an ergotist.”
Or a hopnotist.
egotist = concieted. egoist = self-centered. So egotist.
but it’s not a severe error to conflate the two as nearly all conceited people are self-centered. And when self-centricism becomes a problem it’s often combined with conceit.
But how often do you hear the word “egoistical” ? :-)
BIG HEAD (OF BEER).
Swollen head.
Also, puffed up.
Also a total airhead.
Nice high-top fade, though.
Shouldn’t that be “Egotist”?
(With a “T” after “Ego”.)
I thought so, too . . .

Is it pronounced with two syllables, ee-goyst?
Is “egotist’ pronounced ee-got-ist? :-P
